[#1 "い"] Invoices: increasingly complicated paperwork (by MK)

SCGR Sumitomo Corporation Global Research 20th Anniversary Karuta

[Author's thoughts]

It's easy to say "invoice system," but if it's just in katakana, how is it different from bills and receipts we've had up until now?

The official name is the "Qualified Invoice Storage Method." It's even more confusing now!

  • Does it have a registration number that starts with T?

  • Whether the total amount for each tax rate and the amount of consumption tax are written

  • Is the date and details of the transaction written down?

This is the key point to check.

Take a closer look at receipts from convenience stores and supermarkets, which you've probably just ended up in your wallet until now, and learn more about them.

A system that started on October 1, 2023, which is necessary for business operators to pay consumption tax accurately.

With the help of study sessions held by the company's accounting staff, I gradually became accustomed to handling administrative tasks.

With the introduction of the "invoice system," which seems to aim at the appropriate collection of consumption tax, there are now a lot of things to be aware of in accounting, such as "registration numbers," "tax-exempt businesses," and "interim measures for 80% deduction," and this is what administrative staff have been saying. I guess we just have to get used to it.
